The aim of the ESGARD-OMIA meeting is to ensure a large diffusion of information about the preparation of the next possible Integrated Activity (IA) proposal on accelerator R&D, within the European Frame Work Program 7 (FP7).

In order to prepare the bid for possible IA activities to be submitted in the second FP7 call, which will be published on November 15, 2007, and closed on February 15, 2008, three working groups have been set-up by ESGARD (*) in charge of developing, from the Letters of Intent received by this committee, consistent sets of research activities to be imbedded in an Integrated Activity project. These groups have been formed on the following topics and under the chairmanship of the indicated persons:

  1. High-intensity high-energy proton beams (R.Garoby)
  2. Novel accelerating systems (E. Jensen)
  3. Superconducting RF acceleration systems (O.Napoly)

The groups have worked for some months and regularly reported to the ESGARD committee. The status of this preparation will be presented in the meeting and this will be followed by a general discussion.

ESGARD Open Meeting Integrated Activity will be held at CERN, in the Council Room.

The detail of the agenda and the precise form of the presentations is not yet known and will be defined later by the chaimen of the working groups in agreement with ESGARD. The agenda will be issued on this site as soon as it will be fixed.

For ESGARD-OMIA, an as large as possible audience is desirable. You are all warmly invited to participate into this meeting and to already book the dates in your agenda.
